UFC GYM Chief Executive hints at further Asian expansion as US clubs launch new promotion
August 27, 2022

UFC GYM and UFC FIT facilities in North America have announced a new ‘Get Fit for Fall’ promotion, encouraging members and non-members to develop healthy habits and routines throughout the remainder of the year.

Program events at UFC GYM and UFC FIT locations will include complimentary group HIIT classes, youth classes, recovery self-care seminars and nutrition education.

In addition, UFC GYM Chief Executive Adam Sedlack has hinted that the group is to open clubs in South Korea during a recent visit to the country’s capital of Seoul.

In an interview with Korean publication Dong-A Ilbo, Sestak appeared mindful of the fitness needs of the local population, commenting “even people with Parkinson’s disease can alleviate symptoms and live a healthier life with exercise.”

Noting that “Korea is moving toward a ‘super-aging’ society, with the number of elderly people over 65 years old going to exceed nine million soon (and) this is why UFC GYM pays attention to the Korean market.

“Of course, all the people must be healthy, but when the elderly are healthy, society is also healthy. We offer fitness programs tailored to all age groups.”

Created in alliance with New Evolution Ventures, UFC GYM ™ unites the attributes of the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation with member fitness, with its trademarked 'Train Different' approach providing members with, what the group says is, “the ultimate fitness experience and programming that secures results for all ages and training levels”.

The venture has opened 160 locations globally and claims to have 1,000 additional locations currently in development globally.

In addition to its corporate-owned clubs, UFC GYM offers the opportunity to own and operate a franchise domestically and internationally through the UFC GYM® or UFC FIT® model.

In his interview, Sedrag emphasised “exercise should not be a one-time thing that you do for two or three months and then quit. UFC GYM offers fun through a variety of workouts. It also motivates you to exercise. Through various community activities, they also foster bonds with each other. We strive to provide various benefits so that once you come, you will never be able to stop visiting. Fitness isn't just about physical health. Mental health is also important. We are always consulted by a psychologist. A healthy and happy life begins the moment everyone steps into UFC GYM. Even a 90-year-old can stand in a real octagon if trained well.”

While UFC GYM already having established clubs in Australia, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Singapore and Thailand, Sedrac added “I will enter the Korean market soon and create a new fitness craze.”

On LinkedIn he also advised “some major announcements (are) coming.”
