Les Mills Virtual helping clubs to maximise member attendance and prevent class cancellations
December 29, 2022

With the holiday season in full swing and with gyms anticipating a New Year boost in memberships, LES MILLS® Virtual is providing fitness clubs around the world with a solution to prevent group fitness class cancellations and maximise member attendance and retention.

Explaining how Les Mills Virtual can help fitness businesses, a Les Mills spokesperson explains “with the average fitness studio siting empty for 50 to 80% of the day. Les Mills Virtual enables operators to offer scheduled and on-demand workouts in their studio spaces.

“Running Les Mills Virtual classes in off-peak times brings group fitness to entirely new markets, such as shift-workers and parents, while closed captions ensures accessibility for those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

“When offered in conjunction with live Les Mills classes, Les Mills Virtual will expand your current timetable and optimise your studio space.

“In addition, an in-studio Virtual offering means you’ll never have to cancel a class or find a cover Instructor, and your instructors won’t have to work through injury or illness ever again.”

The global group fitness leaders cite how Les Mills Virtual has generated great success for so many clubs, including Willows Health & Lifestyle Centre in Queensland whose results include: 30% of total visits to the centre being for group fitness; a 26% increase in attendance in cycle classes, a 22% increase in total number of Virtual visits and an 8% increase in number growth, which was 5% greater than expected.

For Health & Fitness World in Tasmania, Les Mills virtual contributed to: a 37% increase in number of visiting members; 16% increase in monthly attendance to group fitness classes; 14% increase in weekly swipe-ins and an 8% increase in number of members attending group fitness classes

The Les Mills spokesperson added that “Australian-based clubs may also be eligible to access third-party finance, which may mean Les Mills Virtual is more affordable than you realise.”

Backing up these experiences, findings from the Les Mills 2021 Global Fitness Report revealed that:

With Les Mills Virtual:

• Over half of all Virtual users visit three times per week
• 21% of Virtual users have been a member of their current gym for more than one year

Without Les Mills Virtual:

• 2/3 of gym members use their gym less than 1.9 times per week
• 15% of non-Virtual users have been members for more than one year
