Junckers offers portable sports floors from 2023 FIBA World Cup for sale
September 5, 2023

With the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup counting down to its conclusion at the weekend, Junckers, the tournament’s sports floor partner, has advised that it is offering the temporary surfaces it installed for the competition are now available for sale.

Hosted by the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, the tournament has been played at five venues: Manila’s Philippine Arena, Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City and the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay in the Philippines, along with the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta and the Okinawa Arena on the Japanese island of Okinawa.

Approved to FIBA’s level 1 sports floor standard, each Junckers PC44 sports floor,  with all markings as used during the tournament, measuring approximately 805 metres² to 820 metres², will cost around $150,000 delivered and installed in Australia. Extra panel sections can be added.

Commenting on the offer, Michael Donnelly, General Manager of Junckers’ Australian-distributor Maxwood Technology, stated “this is approximately a 50% discount off what it would cost to buy this new.

“However, the challenge is they are moving fast with quite a bit of interest. They want to have them all sold before the competition finishes to then pack up.

“We’ll then organise them into a container, will deliver to an Australian port and then to any metro site.

“If a site isn’t 100% ready they could be stored offsite as they fit on 2m x 1.4m pallets so are easy to store.”

Junckers manufactures high quality solid wood flooring for all types of sport courts and gyms, including basketball courts, handball courts, volleyball courts, futsal pitches, racquet courts, squash courts and multipurpose arenas.

The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup concludes on Sunday.
