FIBO 2021 re-scheduled to improve planning certainty for the fitness industry
The organisers of Germany's FIBO, the international fitness and wellness trade show, have advised that the event originally scheduled to run from 8th to 11th April 2021, in Cologne, Germany, will now take place from 24th to 27th June. Having taken into consideration the current developments on COVID-19 and to improve planning certainty for exhibitors and visitors.
Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, Chief Executive of organiser Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH notes "we are confident that we will be able to optimise conditions for a safe event on the re-scheduled summer dates of FIBO 2021. In so doing, we are also working on hybrid models to optimally combine physical components and digital content. The availability of vaccines during 2021 also gives us reason for optimism.
"The still unclear pandemic developments and framework conditions have prompted us to reassess the situation. For us, the top priority is to minimise both the health and economic risks for all participants and to avoid unnecessary costs.
For the fitness industry, which has been hit hard by the pandemic, next year's FIBO is a beacon of hope. With the new dates in summer, 2021 FIBO is responding to the wishes of many exhibitors, for whom the trade show is the most important marketplace of the year.
Head of FIBO, Silke Frank adds "we are doing everything we can to get the physical trade show going again in 2021 and assume the situation will have improved from June onwards with regard to legal and economic conditions such as travel restrictions, among other things.
"We will make optimal use of the extended preparation time to stage a safe and successful FIBO 2021 for all participants in the summer."
FIBO 2021 will run from 24th to 27th June in the same halls of Koelnmesse as usual. To kick off the show, the European Health & Fitness Forum (EHFF) will be held on 23rd June. FIBO and EuropeActive have agreed on this. The new FIBO-Congress on the first and second day of the show will be organised in cooperation with the BSA Academy and the German University for Prevention and Health Management.
