World Leisure headquarters relocates to Spain

For the first time in its almost 60 years of history, the headquarters of the World Leisure Organisation are to be located outside of North America.

To be located in the Institute of Leisure Studies at the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain, the Secretariat will be headed by Dr. Cristina Ortega Nuere as World Leisure Chief Operating Officer.

Dr Ortega Nuere, Director of the Leisure Studies Institute within the University’s Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, will lead a team formed by Estibaliz Crespo, Organisation Manager; Leire Zarate, Program Development and Nagore Solar, Communication and Events Specialist.

Fernando Bayón, Senior Researcher at the University’s Institute of Leisure Studies, will serve as the link between World Leisure and the Institute.
