Tokyo DisneySea theme park secures Applause Award
November 18, 2022

After a four-year COVID hiatus, the Liseberg-given Applause Award is again celebrating the best theme parks and attractions around the world with Tokyo DisneySea announced the winner of the 2022 Applause Award at IAAPA Expo.

Awarded biannually since 1980, the prestigious Liseberg Applause Award honours an attraction whose management, operations, and creative accomplishments inspire the industry with foresight, originality, and sound business development. In 2020, the award halted in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, President and Chief Executive, Liseberg Group and Chairman of The Applause Award Board of Governors notes “with a mix of world-class attractions, exceptional shows, outstanding theming, and flawless operation, this park is by many regarded as almost perfect. When it was built in 2001, it was one of the most ambitious park developments ever. And Tokyo DisneySea still is one of the most beautiful theme parks in the world.”

Tokyo DisneySea joins the ranks of highly-regarded attractions who have secured the accolade.
