International speaker line up to address first ever ‘Greek Fitness Conference’

International speaker line up to address first ever ‘Greek Fitness Conference’
June 7, 2021

The Fitness Conference, a new international fitness event focussing on the exercise market in Greece and Cyprus, is to be presented online on 29th June.

Being presented by Boussias, the Conference aims to be a platform for the exchange of views of entrepreneurs, researchers, business executives, providers of digital solutions and services to explore a range of key industry issues.

The Conference will discuss the catalytic role of new technologies in the future, with well-known Greek and international speakers, specialised scientists and professionals speaking about the new challenges of the field.

Among the presenters, Jono Petrohilos, Chief Executive and founder of Fitness Education Online, will be a keynote speaker at The Fitness Conference.

Petrohilos, who is of Greek Australian heritage, was the recipient of Fitness Australia’s Educator of the Year award in 2020, in recognition of his role in fitness industry education via his online education platform, Fitness Education Online.

Petrohilos (pictured above) created the online program as a global ‘go-to’ for all fitness up-skilling and training needs with courses recognised by leading fitness course providers in Australia, including Fitness Australia and FitRec, and in New Zealand, REPs New Zealand.

Speaking to Australia's The Greek Herald news website about his presentation at The Fit Conference, Petrohilos advised "my topic is how to run a hybrid challenge, combining face to face with online

“I’ve sort of always done both. Even before COVID, I always said ‘I’m going to run a fitness boot camp’, but there’s only so much you can do with someone in one hour a day.

“I thought, what are the other little things that I can do or that people can do when they’re not actually with me. What are some fun little challenges people can do that are that are easy to do, that are fun to implement for the trainer and give and give more accountability and give the client a better result.”

Some of the topics to be discussed at the conference include the creation of digital services based on international standards, the importance of digital reform in the field of Fitness and the expansion of the digital fitness market.

Along with rest of the world, Greece is slowly moving towards relaxation of Coronavirus restrictions with the implementation of the vaccine. However, Petrohilos says the online resources and tools will “always still be there”, therefore giving people alternative options in the future.

He added “I think it’s cool that the Greek fitness industry is doing this, because it’s the first ever time they’re doing it.”

Petrohilos will be the only Australian presenting at the conference. Due to COVID restrictions, the conference will be streamed online to fitness professionals across Greece and Cyprus.

  • Issues to be explored at The Fitness Conference will include:
  • What will be the post-COVID-19 season in the field of Fitness?
  • Digital programs have come. How will they integrate into the new business reality?
  • What is the profile of the digital native customer?
  • How to make digital programs/services more friendly?
  • Can we motivate and inspire practitioners to stay true to their fitness and personal goals?
  • How can digital technologies contribute to the experience and engagement of customers?
  • How to adjust your strategic plan to gain more flexibility.
  • How can convergence/integration/the right mix of physical and digital services be achieved?
  • What is the importance of personalised services and what is the role of digital technology in this goal?
