Ho Chi Minh City prepares to host largest international tourism event in Vietnam and Mekong sub-region

With the theme ‘Growing Forward Together’, Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City is preparing to host the 16th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2022) - the largest international tourism event in Vietnam and Mekong sub-region.

Set to be staged from 8th to 10th September at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC),

ITE HCMC 2022 will connect and promote inbound tourism to Vietnam and Mekong sub-region, attracting thousands of domestic and international delegates from tourism authorities, travel agencies, airlines, hotels and resorts along with industry experts from 41 provinces and cities in Vietnam and 10 countries and territories.

Over its three days, ITE HCMC 2022 is expected to attract more than 22,000 visitors, including 10,000 trade visitors and 12,000 public visitors.

ITE HCMC is the only international tourism event in Vietnam that organises the Hosted Buyer Program which offers an opportunity for international tourism businesses who plan to expand their business and aim to bring tourists to Vietnam.

From thousands of registrations, the Organisation Committee has selected and invited over 150 international buyers from 18 countries and territories. Thereby, the 16th ITE HCMC promises to witness more than 6,000 B2B meetings between buyers and exhibitors.

Introducing the convention, Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Tourism, advised “as the leading international tourism event, ITE HCMC 2022 is constantly improving in terms of scale and quality and commit to accompany tourism authorities and businesses to promote to domestic and international tourists, actively promoting the recovery of tourism in Vietnam and the region.

“Ho Chi Minh City is privileged to be host city for Asia and Oceania Gala Ceremony of World Travel Award 2022 (which) reinforces the position of Ho Chi Minh City on the world map of tourism."

  • Vietnam Night 'Dear Gạo'Award Ceremony World Travel Award.
  • Tourism Night: Cambodia Night (8th September) & Korea Night (9th September).
