dwp share latest appointments, promotions and relocations

With global architecture and design practice - dwp|design worldwide partnership - having expanded over the past six months into a number of new markets including significant projects won in Kyoto, Japan; Auckland, New Zealand; and Shenzhen, China, the firm has announced new appointments, promotions and relocations.

This is on the back of continuing to deliver landmark projects including the upcoming World Expo, Dubai; Taronga Zoo, Sydney; three major hospitals in Australia plus six star hotels and advanced education projects.

Michael Hegarty, Group Chief Executive dwp|design worldwide partnership advised “dwp is continuing to grow. We are delighted to announce a large cohort of new additions to our Australia architecture team including John Byleveld who is our new Design Director in Adelaide. Our dwp team is united around the goal to design for a better world. Therefore to best serve our clients we are relocating some key personnel to help bolster centres of excellence as well as expanding our presence and capabilities further.

“Our team in China has recently been strengthened through a new studio presence in Shanghai led by Song Mingzhong, who worked previously at both dwp and Foster & Partners over the past fifteen years. As part of our continued growth globally, I’m delighted to announce new appointments and promotions in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. These are great people who are focused on design for a better world.”

The dwp staff appointments and leadership promotions across Australian studios include:
Ivana Simkovic is promoted to the role of Sydney studio Design Director.
John Byleveld joins dwp as Adelaide studio Design Director.
Neil Carter joins dwp as Brisbane studio Design Director.
Architect and urban designer Angus Rose is promoted to the role of Operations Director Australia & New Zealand, taking on the commercial oversight of all studios in the region.
Cameron Martin has been promoted to the studio leadership role for New South Wales & ACT, amalgamating the dwp staff located in Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle into one studio.
Education sector leader Scott Chapple has been promoted to the studio leadership role in Queensland.

Afifah Intanjudin & Percy Damian-Lopez (Architects, Newcastle),
Tom Michele (Architect, Adelaide) and
Nicole Eadie (Architect, Melbourne).

Newcastle - Sophie Green

dwp expansion in the Middle East continues with:
Charlie Kelly has relocated to Dubai as Regional Managing Director ME with regional expansion plans for Saudi Arabia and Europe.
Adriana Gruer, winner of Dubai young designer of the year is newly promoted to Design Director, Dubai Studio.
Kanika Puri will relocate from Singapore to join our Dubai studio and Design Director.
Ramya Subramaniam has relocated from Bangkok Studio to join dwp Singapore studio as Design Director.

These strategic appointments follow closely on the appointment of Leonard Lee as dwp Global Leader for the Hospitality design sector, based in Singapore.
