Dubai’s AquaFun secures world record for largest inflatable aquatic play park
January 27, 2022

AquaFun- a Wibit Sports inflatable aquatic playground installed at the Jumeirah Beach Residence in Dubai, has received a Guinness World Record certificate for being the world’s largest inflatable water park.

Launched for the first time in 2016 (pictured below), AquaFun has now expanded to three times its original size covering an area of about 5,000 square metres, and able to accommodate up to 500 people concurrently.

In manufacturing the playground, Wibit Sports used the turquoise and purple colours of the brand Dubai logo which can be read in both the English (left to right) and Arabic (right to left) language. The inflatable water theme is in the form of the official logo of Dubai with a heart representing the phrase ‘I love Dubai’ and the extension including the words ‘Expo2020’.

Ahmed Ben Chaibah, Chief Executive and Founder of AquaFun advised “we are very glad with the title. When we established this project five years ago, our ambition was to offer fun and entertainment to Dubai visitors in the Dubai Marina and JBR through a world-class entertainment destination.”

Ahmed Al Khaja, Chief Executive of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE highlighted “to secure another world record for Dubai during such an important event in our calendar, the Dubai Shopping Festival, is a moment of real pride for the city. Dubai Shopping Festival was launched to boost local businesses and has now grown into an internationally acclaimed event that has successfully raised the profile of Dubai as one of the best places to live in, work in and visit with its huge breadth of experiences.”

Talal Omar, Director of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region at Guinness World Records, adds “The Dubai's obtaining of world records is not new, as it constantly amazes us with its creativity and determination to constantly compete with itself. The same applies to its citizens and residents.”
