Details released for Singapore’s hosting of first-ever Olympic Esports Week
May 30, 2023

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), together with the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), has released the event details and ticketing information for the inaugural Olympic Esports Week, taking place in Singapore’s Suntec Centre from 22nd to 25th June 2023.

Set to include Olympic Esports Finals action across 10 events – with sport shooting the most recent addition to the line-up, with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF)’s challenge featuring Fortnite - the inaugural Olympic Esports Week is a four-day festival of virtual sports and gaming.

Created by the IOC and hosted in Singapore, a highlight of the week will be the first in-person, live finals of the Olympic Esports Series 2023 - the global virtual and simulated sports competition from the IOC, conducted in collaboration with International Federations (IFs) and game publishers. Qualification rounds in baseball, chess, motorsport and sailing are already under way, with competitors aiming to reach the finals in Singapore and compete in front of fans for the prestigious title of Olympic Esports Series winner.

The ISSF’s sport shooting island event will see 12 players from the 2023 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) invited to compete on the global stage.

A specially designed Fortnite Creative Island, made to reflect sport shooting competition, will put the target-aiming accuracy of sharp shooters to the test and see them navigate the in-game environment as they compete to become an Olympic Esports Series winner.

Tickets for Olympic Esports Week are available, with general admission starting at SG$10 (US$7.40) per day and three-day passes available from SG$20 (US$15.80).

In recognition of Visa’s long-standing partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa is the official and preferred way to pay for Olympic Esports Week tickets.

Ticket-holders will be able to attend a full schedule of events across the Olympic Esports Week program, including:

  • Live finals action from the Olympic Esports Series - Friday 23rd June: archery, cycling, dancing, sailing; Saturday 24th June: baseball, taekwondo, sport shooting, tennis; Sunday 25th June: motorsport, chess.
  • The latest virtual sports, gaming and esports innovations in the free-to-play zone, including baseball, cricket, cycling and motorsport.

Some of the world’s best competing in exhibition matches across NBA 2K23, Eleven Table Tennis and much more.

Olympic Esports Week is supported by the Worldwide Olympic Partners, including Allianz, which will bring its MoveNow Camp to Singapore with a new esports edition.

Olympic Esports Week marks another step in supporting the development of virtual sports within the Olympic Movement, as laid out in Olympic Agenda 2020+5, and continues the Movement’s collaboration with the gaming and esports communities to create new opportunities for players and fans alike.
